Recipient of the Distinguished Lecturer by the Robert A. Welch Foundation

Distinguished Professor and Lilly Alumni Chair, Milos Novotny, is the recipient of the Distinguished Lecturer by the Robert A. Welch Foundation. The lectureship program was established in 1956 to encourage interest and excellence in chemical research with the State of Texas. The Welch Foundation also generously supports chemical research at the universities in Texas. Coincidentally, Dr. Novotny was a Welch Postdoctoral Fellow before coming to IU in 1971.

The Ronald A. Hites Award for an Outstanding Research Publication in JASMS (Journal American Society for Mass Spectrometry) has been announced by the president of ASMS. The journal is the leader of mass spectrometry journals in circulation and is also the leading mass spectrometry journal in impact factor for original research publications. Given that JASMS is the leader in the field, it seems appropriate that the Society recognizes, with an award, the quality of the papers published.
